What is Kappka
Kappka is a free mobile app that lets you scan, store and redeem deposit coupons at the checkout straight from your phone, instead of carrying them in your pocket. It also includes gamification elements, such as competing with friends and a leaderboard.
- Scanning
- Point the camera at the coupon's barcode and Kappka reads the code and the amount.
- Coupon wallet
- Scanned coupons stay in the app, so you don't have to remember a paper slip or dig for it in your pockets. The app reminds you about them before they expire.
- At the checkout
- At the checkout you show the coupon from your phone. The barcode opens full screen at maximum brightness.
- Competition
- Every bottle earns experience points and moves you up levels. On top of that come a daily streak, progress charts and a leaderboard showing who collected the most.
- Friends
- You add friends with a QR code and race each other on the leaderboard for who collected the most deposit.
Community
Kappka is built by its community. Every idea is welcome: a new feature, a note about how the app works, or a store where a coupon won't scan. We read every submission, and the best ideas make it into upcoming updates!

For every 100 bottles
collected,
we plan to plant a real
tree.
This is not meant to be a virtual reward in the app. In the future we want every 100 bottles and cans collected by the Kappka community to mean one real tree, planted together with a local reforestation organization. For now it is a plan. When we start planting, we will post about it here.
